Summer 2026- Program REGISTRATION OPENS February 27th!

Cost: $250 Registration fee (Meet fees not included)

Meet Fees: $30 per meet depends on how many meets you attend

Welcome to team Alpha Speed Academy! (Ages 8-12)

We are a youth Track and Field team whose recently opened ourselves up to train and coach youth up and coming athletes in a fun and educational environment to prepare them for highly competitive track meets.

We will be holding our first practice April 13th at 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Truman Middle School in Tacoma

~ MANDATORY PARENT MEETING 1pm 3/29/256@ CURTIS HIGH SCHOOL Weight Room.

Below you’ll see a link to online registration and payment.  This needs to be completed and paid before first practice.

As a team, we will be utilizing the TeamSnap app for team chats & scheduling. Please download this app as it's our method of staying updated with information.

  • Please, bring to practice water bottle (with name) running shoes, appropriate clothing for the season (our spring weather has been somewhat unpredictable and evenings can be cold/ windy/ rainy) We practice in running shoes and compete in track spikes unless coaches specify otherwise throughout the season. 

  • For the safety of all athletes and coaches it’s important to supervise younger children who are not participating in our program. Athletes who are being coached should have a liability waiver/fees documented filled out on TeamSnap Registration for continuity purposes. We are not responsible for unsupervised children.

Running Practices:

●Monday, Wednesday, Thursday 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm @ Truman & Curtis Middle School and in June and July we will move to Curtis High School.

June 26-28 Junior Olympics association meet Mt Tahoma High School

*July 8-12 - USATF JO REGION 13 @ Mt Tahoma High School

*July 27-August 2nd - USATF JO CHAMPIONSHIPS @ Cerritos College, Norwalk, CA

*Indicates optional/qualifying meet- these meets are intended for athletes who intend to compete in USATF Junior Olympics and must qualify in procession from Regionals and Nationals and at the expense of athletes family.

Note- when registering for training and meets you can now specify which meets you’re available for (meets are a la cart). You may register for training only without competing but you MUST select training if you choose to compete.

*CAUTION- meet registrations close 2 weeks before meet date and will not reopen for any reason!

  • Out of town meets are at the expense of the athlete’s caregiver/family. These costs include transportation, lodging, and meals. Please plan accordingly as carpooling with teammates might be an option for you but should be made independently.  Group reservations can be made with notice of family.
